ABOUT THE PROJECT
Constructed as a textile warehouse in the early 1900s, this red brick building is situated in the Whitworth Street Conservation Area – an area renowned for its wealth of prestigious Victorian and Edwardian buildings from 1850-1920. The development is comprised of 126 high-spec apartments ranging from studios to 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments.
CPS Ltd were engaged by Beech to provide a full dry lining partitions, ceilings and fire stopping package for this exciting residential conversion.
Using all British gypsum materials, CPS Ltd built acoustic partitions between apartments with resilient bar and acoustic flanking strips to floor junctions and abutments. BG Casoline fire rated ceilings were installed to all apartments and common areas. Insulated linings to the external walls were installed to achieve the designs required U Value calculations.
Restricted access for materials represented a major challenge for this project. CPS Ltd overcame this by loading the project out of hours to ease pressure on the hoist during main working hours, and to keep the project moving efficiently.
